Khoobsurat moment # 4: Taming the Bird’s Nest

What is a fashion-blogger’s life like?

Ideating/writing/blogger meets/shoots/events .These 4 words pretty much sum it all. No matter how glossy it seems because of the various Front-page & page-3 events we mark our presence with, it is equally stressful.
On weekdays, after-work hours generally end in events hosted by various brands. Last Friday, I was invited to style myself for a stylish event and it was post 6pm. I took a phantom rickshaw ride to the place which was about an hour away. Yea, and you thought we always get pick-up drops!!!
By the time I reached, the rickshaw guy had almost killed me with his amazing braking skills at the speed of 100km/hr on 100 meter stretches! I got out of the phantom ride with hair looking like they were planted on my head by pigeons while I was cooking that famed Birbal’s khichdi for hours outdoors.
I walked in without caring how I looked, as if that was the latest hair trend I drank some water ,filled my tummy with hours de vours and styled myself in my favorite Pakshi dress which had sparrow prints on it. While in the trial room, I brushed my hair with patience & love. They were tamed to my surprise in 5 mins. No gel used!
When I came out for the shoot, the first thing the photographer told me, “I can’t believe you fixed that nest on your head inside the trial room! My God, was there some magic wand to make your hair look so bouncy?”
I felt amazing because it came from Bollywood paparazzo, who takes pictures of all Bollywood celebs at various events. Yet another #KhoobsuratMoment. While I happily posed for the shutterbugs, I quietly thanked L’Oreal Paris for having me try the Casting Crème Gloss . You have given me gorgeous moments!!!

Goodmorning #Khoobsurat Hair ft. Morning Jogs

I have a love-hate relationship with workouts. Love because it makes me happy +energized+ confident +proud. Hate because I dread waking up early in the mornings . The only incentive is a lot of beauty around ,like those full bloom lotus in the pond. I have always had this fascination for Lotus flowers. They are indeed grand as shown in religious paintings. They almost distract me. I have never passed a lotus in full bloom without clicking it. Do you like Lotus too?

Workouts mean you need to fix your hair so they don't fall all over your face while you exercise. I tie a high pony whenever I go walking, running or at home doing yoga/aerobics. The hair would look so limp when tied up in a pony. You know that awful feeling when your pony looks like a handful strands of hair. Sigh! Sometimes I did not even tie a pony and do my jogging in untied hair just because the hair lacked volume.

Last week when I tied my hair, I loved the feeling of bouncy hair as I warmed up after a morning walk. I love how my hair feels now! True to its promise, L’Oreal Paris casting crème gloss has made my hair look healthy. I have started taking more care naturally as I want this feeling to stay! I am pleasantly surprised of the outcomes this hair coloring has brought in. Little did I know, my morning workouts would become my #khoobsurat moments. Goodmorning Good hair !

P.S I enjoy doing the side to side waist moves even more now :P

My Khoobsurat moment: Those magical hair

"I have always dreamt , that one day I will wake up to hair as long as Rapunzel. It is a fact that scientifically, every person can have only a certain maximum hair-length. Sigh! I can never see Rapunzel like hair happening for me! But, what if the hair just bounce & shine with health?
Isn't healthy hair are as good as long hair? Who likes to see their hair dull, dry and frizzy! When I took the #SayYesToColor challenge last week, little did I know that I will wake up to naturally glossy hair. I got excellent grey coverage and that subtle hint of color & when I looked into the mirror I wanted to rush for selfies. I played with the sunshine to see that natural black cherry tint showing its beauty on my hair . The results of L'Oréal Paris Casting Crème Gloss has got me my KHOOBSURAT moment! I have become a Hair-fee addict! And I just cant help looking at my hair especially when yellow light falls on them highlighting the shade. Beauty is in subtlety .Its not loud. Its there and you know it! To top it all I did this all at home without actually visiting a stylist at a salon.See the video here. I am glad how the pictures have turned out. Happiness shows right? Nik is getting better behind the camera :)

TREND ALERT: HAIR COLOR, THE SAFER WAY!

Like seasons, what if our hair changed color too?

Don’t we love seeing color all around us? Colors make us happy. I love my Instafeed when I am in the brightest of hues. What about my hair, you ask? They have been the only color-constant in my life perhaps. Jet black. It was way back in 2004 when I was an engineering student living the hostel life away from home. You know that punk-rock influence in teenage years? I was wanting to color my bangs red. Then I stumbled upon a hair dye in burgundy. I colored those strands. They shone fiery red in the sun and I felt accomplished within. I got some compliments, but the smelly experience wasn’t a welcome. That was it! I never went back to color, I thought it was unsafe and unnecessary… But I was wrong.

Almost a decade later, I see the sudden trend reports that continuously predict not just hairstyle trends but hair-color trends. The formulas have undergone change. The hair-coloring phenomenon is not just restricted to getting a different shade, but a healthier, glossier mane! Companies claim success. Consumers agree. The hair is no longer dry with Ammonia-free treatments. They infact become shinier and bounce with health.

Talking to a few blogger friends last week, I realised how it has become a regular ritual for them. They say, the shine and bounce of the new hair-color formulas is addictive. As a matter of fact, I have seen it on them. The latest celebrities are sporting the same too. You can check it out on Get The Look here: http://www.getthelook.co.in/article/aishwarya-rai-keeps-up-her-copper-highlights/100

I can only pray for that shine! Have you come across similar reviews? Hair-coloring is back. It is here to stay! What do you say? As for me, I am thinking of saying Yes to Color! {SUPER-EXCITED}{ANXIOUS}{SUGGESTIONS?}

What do you think of these beauties. Isn't hair color a defining moment for each of them?
