THE LOOK:( I CALL IT A STEAL!)

Metallic grey jacket- DEBENHAMS ( SALE -Rs.1700.MRP-5500)
Heart Cropped jumper- (HILL ROAD, Rs.250)
Tassel Belt -PROMOD( SALE -Rs.1000,MRP-Rs.2200)

Black Suede leather boots-  Springfield( From Pax-Colaba at just Rs.990, for an export piece of 55GBP)
Grey warmer- JOCKEY( Rs.300)

I loved doing these jumpy shots, because everyone around didnt bother. If you look closely, you see 2 couples almost so much in love. There was a certain air of romance and people dont shy, In france, the expression of LOVE is to let go, SET FREE- sealed with a kiss ;)

Hello folks!

I know you were waiting for these posts for a while now. I so wanted to reach Paris & discover that it was overly-hyped but NO! I fell in the trap. This beautiful city is indeed a gem. So dense, so artsy, even an year would be less to discover every interesting thing about this well-preserved capital. I will be telling you more about the city in my travel section, for now lets get back to our favorite-THE CLOTHES!

Paris is the fashion capital of the world and this made me google extensively on what i should wear to look as stylish as every Parisian around.I had all the pretty dresses with lace, stripes and flare on my mind, ofcourse complete with bumblebee glasses and a pretty hat. But ,SUPRISE! I did none of that. Forecasts said temperature range would be between 10-15 degrees and I didnt want to rattle in the cold like last year in Rome! ANOTHER SURPRISE: The parisians dress very much like how I did in Autumn. Every youngster has an edgy punk-rock-ISH vibe about his/her clothing. None of them really feminine. Though I did see the grandmas wearing the kind of stuff we imagine parisians would wear!

I carried 2 boots- The BEST idea ever. The trick is to keep your feet warm and the rest of the body can bear a little lesser warm clothes. Two warm tights to wear with the boots- The Marks & Spencer thermal tights did a wonderful job(Will show in the next post). Two Jackets- One I wore here: My favorite jacket ever from Debenhams( Got it for Rs.1700 in SALE,MRP 5500). Its a steal and ups your glamor quotient instantly- yes those frills make it look so awesome!

For my face, I wanted a nude look- So i opted for bold eyebrows( eyebrow liner + Loreal Kajal Magique) and Bourjois lip liner in No.12 and Deborah Milano Atomic Matt in No.2 . Wore Za Collagen cream with with my Rimmel London BB CREAM and BOOM- I loved how this turned out!

I wore this to the LOUVRE musuem , yeah , a date with Monalisa had to have a HEART! This quilted heart cropped top is warm and I got it for dirt cheap in Bandra(Rs.250) . It might still be around hill road , if you may want! No, I am not giving away this one yet! Hope you enjoy this look!
Stay tuned for all the FRANCE -WHAT I WORE posts & travel posts!

Till next time,

How people react to style posts!

*Grumble ALERT*

“Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.”
― C.G. Jung

"Why don't you get into modelling?". "Looking great. You must get into modelling. Don't you get offers?" Its about time you get out of your day job and get into the fashion industry" . " I totally feel you deserve a break in the fashion magazines and that you must try your luck there. What are you doing here?"

And many more... I appreciate that people think so much about me. Its comforting to know people appreciate your work so much and wish all the good things for you.

Well, I wish i did get offers for modelling. But then, My blog is about STYLING and not modelling.I started the blog to share my personal style and styling tips. Not my face.  Since it is my personal style , I cannot have someone else wear it on the blog. How would it be personal style then? So what is styling you ask? In layman language- Styling means dressing up just the way you do everyday based on your mood, occasion, time of the day, weather etc. Styling is putting together an entire look top to bottom( tops, bottoms, accessories, footwear etc). The best part is playing dress-up. A same piece of cloth can be worn in a multiple ways and that is what is exciting about Styling!

Someone said, "Great pictures there, where did you get that blazer from?" . Whaaa!!! I did not write all that Ramayana(Read TEXT) for myself. Someone just pinged me. "Nice pictures.Ok, What is your blog about, again?" Perhaps an FAQ section might help.

Before I leave, this is my quick Office wear to Party wear transformation when I attended Lakme Fashion Week. Just add those pointy heels and the chunky black neckpiece and cuff . I wore the scarf as a half poncho.

Selfie is mandatory especially when you can't grab enough people for solo snaps!

The Urban Hippie ft. Blogger buddies

The SALE season has officially ended. I have added some really amazing pieces to my wardrobe this time. I had to create this look which combines the A/W pieces from 2013 suitable for the beginning of spring. I grabbed a wonderful biker jacket in white linen from ZARA at Rs.1290 .MRP was 4000 Rs. ( Check its high resolution image on my pinterest board  ). I got wonderful hand-cuffs from PROMOD for under Rs.300 each( See the one i wore here)The promod skirt( Check the skirt on pinterest here)  was something I was eyeing ever since it came to the stores. And I bought this on impulse with my blogger friend Shanaya. Yes, both of us liked it and bought it immediately, thanks to our blogger friend Amena who pushed us both into getting it! Now that is Blogger Love!
And this marks the beginning of a new series BLOGGER BUDDIES.

Shanaya and me love skirts and you can tell from the purchase we made. Not for a moment did we feel we shouldn't buy the same skirt as we might repeat. While she is still at college I have been working since 5 years!  I thought it will be great to do a post where we style the pieces without knowing how the other has styled it, given the different age brackets we fall in! While I write, shanaya is sharing the picture of her shoot with me. You will see it at the end with a link to her blog. We had fun shopping the same skirt together and even more looking at the price tag of Rs.700 (60% off)  ! Real huge smiles ! And yea, we might run more shopping trips together ! Tell me what you think of this look and the double take !

Beach Behavior: Shall we Play?

Hey girls!

We continue the Beach waves with our second edition featuring the ever-playful - PLAYSUITS. The petite version of jumpsuits, these are a go-to option for the girl who loves to be fun and practical at the same time. Except that washroom visits could be a concern if they are button-downs. If you wear playsuits on a long day-trip, its best to choose the flowy kinds with elasticated necklines, so they are easier to get-in and get-off. As for a shorter wear for a brunch-party , you may opt for a well-tailored version instead.

Strawberry playsuit, fringe shrug,bangles- Fleamarket| Neckpiece- ZARA| On my nails- SALLY HANSEN SUGAR COAT in Bubbledrop

Pair them with shrugs/jackets as per your convenience to transform the beach look to a brunch/dinner-date look! Its versatile and stylish. Check out my picks this SS'14 from some of my favorite stores. Make your wish-list so that you grab these as soon as they hit the stores!

Coming Soon at GLOBAL DESI, ONLY and VERO MODA stores

Find these at The Beach Company and KOOVS.COM

So , shall we play?

Beach behavior: 3 TRENDS that never fail

Miami Beach is where neon goes to die.

Hey guys!
Sorry for the long wait but before you made your beach-vacation plans ,here I am with the post
on beachwear. Our very own land , our very own crazy GOA . I have been here thrice this year
after I broke the jinx of umpteen failed plans & visited Goa for the first time in Feb 2013! I have
fallen in love with this trance-nation and there is no coming back!

If you are in India & you are in Goa, you can definitely go bold with a bikini .Especially in North
Goa, where you find more foreigners than Indians. However the safest stylish beachwear on the
Indian shores are Kaftans, shorts & sun-dresses .

Beach behavior

Here is a break-up of what I am wearing. Except the flip-flops all items I wore are shown here.
These are my 3 favorite trends which will never go wrong on a beach.Try them and tell me how they work for you!

1. NEONS

Overly used and worn since 2013 , neons look amazing in beach-wear including swimwear. Its because the sunlight does special mercy on neons at the beaches.

2. GO CHUNKY

For a carefree movement, its better to go accessory-free on beaches however, if you would like to spruce up your photos stick to chunky floral headbands, bandanas and chunky handcuffs or neck-pieces.

3. FLOWY

A beach represents fluidity, grace and infinity. Become one with the elements by embracing all those flowy garments : Kaftans, maxi dresses & sun-dresses.

Above all don't forget your sunscreen. I use Neutrogena Ultrasheer. You can read the complete review here.

I'm a beach-behaved girl. Are you ? :P

How to wear a T-shirt to Party

Too tired of wearing the same old dresses for parties? Perhaps you can check out the 3 looks i created for a party-ready you this season here ! If you have landed from that post, then,You just read about my Three Ultimate Party-wear Looks from ONLY. Featuring the 2nd look here :

LOOK 2: The Fizz in the bottle
The idea of this look came up when I spotted this Coca-Cola Tee. A t-shirt is the last thing you would pick up for partywear, isn't it? 3 Classic colors- Red, Black & white which are also symbolic of the Coca Cola bottle is what I captured in this look. Its a party look with a twist. The cardigan symbolizes the fizz. I love the PU detailing on this jacket. The bodycon skirt has bronze sequins inside a lacey sheath. The way it shines subtly in different exposure to lights is gorgeous. The pictures will tell you! So now you know, tee-shirts can also be party wear if combined with glamorous elements!

PARTY With ONLY

I would be lying if I say my wardrobe is overflowing with Party wear! Readers who have been reading the blog for a long time by now ,would agree! My personal style floats between Boho-chic & casual .If I have to attend a party, I play around with Statement accessories and pretty heels instead to up my glamour quotient. Recently when I visited ONLY, I could see an accessory-free existence in the form of statement party-wear & I almost gasped in disbelief. ONLY, which has been my favorite choice for all things denim, got me transformed into a party DIVA!  A little change is always welcome, right?
There was so much to choose from but I chose to create 3 party-looks with everything ONLY and absolutely no accessories except my watch. The change is good? ONLY you will tell me…I have put together 3 individual posts each for one of these looks. Follow the hyperlinks for more images & tips!

About the look i created ( Sorry for the typo here, you know its ILA ;) ) , Spring/summer makes me go blindly after florals . I chose the floral denim pair over the regular blue denims. These are easy to carry as the print is very delicate & feminine.Keeping in tune with the flavor of summer,i picked up neon accessories for a touch of LIME :)
The look also caters to a slightly cold weather by addition of a pastel cardigan which is very airy as well.
A tan leather bag & you balance the feminine accents in this look.Would you try this look?
