{ F.A.S.H.I.O.N } Lounge 2020

My first post on the blog was about 2020 and fast forward 8 months ( Can you believe? ) , I can't still part ways with the magical number- 2020. At least we thought 2020 sounded futuristic and the most transformational. But well, nature had its own " transformational" plans and we are at its mercy . All of us who made those travel bucket lists , got a huge jolt and thats really nothing as compared to everyone who has been deeply impacted due to the virus.

But this year has taught us "GRATITUDE" in abundance. I am thankful everyday for a healthy life, an opportunity to still continue to hold on to what i love most - blogging and creating content . This month we complete 9 years and there's a ton of fabulous SELF-SHOT posts & IRRESISTIBLE giveaways coming your way as i explore the future of fashion post the pandemic. Just before the lockdown began , I was in Goa and goodness, am i thankful for that! It was my birthday and i had decided to quickly make this trip as well as planned some shoots. Who knew this would be the last travel ( so far ) and the last outdoor shoot! 2019 has been very unfortunate for me professionally as well as personally due to these health issues - my lower back as well as the dreaded viral infection on my face that finally went away in June 2020- an entire year! Its the reason why i was not able to create much content despite blogging full-time. Yet, I took chances and shot outdoors despite my face being full of the lesions in February . It was not only embarrassing but dissatisfying as my face was swollen due to the infection throughout the year. It wasn't the face I was used to but nonetheless i accepted it with all my grit and continued on my goals. And I am glad I did that. This was my idea of lounging in 2020 and well, i have been lounging for a lot of 2020 inside my head ! I guess you are too? Hoping for the real deal now , haha .

{ E.D.I.T.O.R.I.A.L} The Vintage Soul - II

Hello lovely people

Remember part 1 of the vintage soul? Its been a while so you can head here and see the blogpost. The second part of the Vintage Soul was shot on the same day in the same Victorian house museum . And so it prompted me to create an old school photo-story instead of just leaving you with pictures. Going a little 1920s as this house has a lot of elements from that era.

ABOUT THE LOOK:

The dress is a flea market find from Sarojini nagar , Delhi and the inspiration behind this whole series. It looked so regal in the shop and it screamed vintage opulence. I knew this dress belonged in a vintage victorian setting and hence began my quest to search a museum that will allow us to shoot this series. I added the embellished headband , the heart shaped necklace, heart shaped earrings ( both Limited edition, Zara) and my maroon velour Mary janes all from Zara to bring that opulence. The gorgeous heart shaped pearl earring is from Globus , i bought a few years ago. The satin purse was gifted by Kerastase India for an event so i don't know the brand as it didn't have a tag. The tights are from my favourite Marks and Spencers.

Hey folks!

This is the final part of my William Morris Editorial and i thought it would only be fitting if you read the idea about this editorial in the first look blogpost of this editorial !

" There are so many reasons i came out with this editorial.

ABOUT THIS LOOK:

Undoubtedly the most loved piece of the William Morris X H&M collaboration , this dress is reigning the hashtag #WilliamMorrisxHM on Instagram . All the girls in the house , if you agree after seeing this post , say YAY! I am really lucky to have got my hands on this dress especially when it was sold out worldwide ! Thank you H&M India . They had only size in it which is Size 8 and i usually wear a UK 10. I asked the girls on instagram if this dress ran true to size and jumped with joy when they said it runs loose ! As you can see here, even size 8 is airy but just perfect. This dress comes with a lining and has the most amazing feel! LOVE it ! I know this one is going to my summer favourite for years to come ! Its that kind of dress, which you'll never discard until it really wears away!

We shot this look at 7.30 am in the morning and the temperature was 7 degree until 8 am. I was freezing and while we walked to the dam in dullstroom , i kinda warmed a bit but not enough to sustain !
My expressions are pretty frozen for the same reason ! My eyes watered with the cold wind and my back already gave trouble . Also, i met these sweet horses and instantly included them in the shoot. Its funny their big face scares me. I always feel they can attack me if they get annoyed with my proximity . But the owner assured me they were the kindest animals ever ! But it was a challenge to get my face to rest because of the scare. It was also because i wasn't in a position to run, so i felt stuck , Haha. The horse must be thinking the same !

This whole editorial has been shot with a lot of trouble thanks to my frozen lower back - i was barely flexible after the 3 hour drive to this village. But i will remember this 2 day stay at Dullstroom fondly as i had one of my dream editorials shot here ! As always i cannot wait to hear from you . ABOUT THIS LOOK:

Thanks to H&M INDIA website, i could lay hands on this last remaining blazer which is not even my size! While pants were available even in Joburg , they were at a much higher price point and so i got these from india website and they were at 20% off. Funnily enough the pants had to be sized up 2 sizes - beat that! Whats with H&M and its sizes?! You clearly cannot trust them off the online shelf. Glad i tried them in store ! I am a size 10 but i still got size 12 and it worked though not very comfortably as did the 14!
Now, the blazer - the blazer my dear fashionistas is overly oversized ! While i don't know what a size 10 would've looked, this was size 14 and its extremely lose ! Generally for blazers i size up 1 size and it works. So ideally this should have been an ok fit if it was a standard fit - but no! I am not complaining here as i needed this jacket to make my dream look work - so here it is! Don't miss my favourite classic Raybans though and my Kolhapuri chappals peaking! I didn't intend to wear these but my lower back was in a terrible condition. I am wearing my heels too but you won't see them due to the tall grass!
