#PhilipsLFW : The Wendell Rodricks Popology for Philips 2015

The last few weeks have gone by raving about all that was "hit" and "miss"  at LFW 2015 Summer Resort. While my busy schedules didnt allow me the liberty to personally sit through all the shows, I made it for one-and Thank God I did, thanks to Philips-the official styling partner for LFW this season! It was totally worth watching the Raghavendra Rathore collection because it wasn't just the well-toned men we have in the country, but sitting opposite me was the God of them all- Kabir Bedi! I am a die hard Kabir Bedi fan for his good looks even as he gracefully climbs the age-ladder at 69!!! I have been really lucky as this is the nth time I have bumped into him, the last I saw him was when he sat right next to me at a play in Prithvi! Droooolll! My eyes were barely on the collection! But,never mind :)

Coming back from my KB obsession, I visited the Philips booth which had the latest Air-styler on display. I quite like the concept of the hair-dryer with a comb-head. Do you use one? Though I am not sure how well it does the job. But knowing and experiencing the goodness of all Philips products in my daily life-I can say it might be darn good. I use the Philips Ion Shine hair dryer and I feel its one of the best in the market. A little tip : For daily-purpose hair dryer ,always consider buying a 2000W+ dryer to avoid damange to the hair. Lesser wattage means damage.

I attended Lakmé Fashion Week thanks to Philips and BlogAdda.com

And now back to where I started- Lakme Fashion Week 2015 Summer/Resort. The last day saw a special showcase of Wendell Rodrick's collection called "Popology for Philips 2015" also marking his return to LFW after 3 years! Remember the last time I met Wendell Rodricks, he was representing Goan culture at an event for Goa tourism!

Philips gadgets were used to style the models for this show . Color-blocking is used generously in most of the pieces. Most pieces translate into wearable fashion for summers . With fresh shades of orange, lime and turquoise, the collection does help in beating the blues. It may not surprise but is peppy & likeable enough to wear this summer!
What do you think?

Well, with summers setting in I promise you a host of travel and fashion posts ahead! Keep reading! Till next time!

Ramp to Reality ft.Global Desi

A week has gone by since the LFW fever has kept the Mumbai fashion aficionados on their toes. I must admit my absence at the A/W hotspot has not caused much unrest. A hectic work life and many prior commitments have caused much more unrest than this. My humble thanks to the digital space hosted by popular magazines & fashion blogs .I don't miss a single show-stopping look at Lakme Fashion Week. I can feel the artsy vibes each and every day on twitter, instagram and facebook.

2 weeks ago, I took my prized possession from Anita Dongre's Global Desi collection for LFW 2013 out on a Sunday morning brunch. I admire Anita Dongre's passion for making Ramp-worthy collection accessible. Her rendition of Indian Boho-chic with her brand Global Desi, is a favorite with Desi fashionistas. She debuted her lables on LFW last year and boy, were they a delight! Aditi Rao Hydari graced the ramp in her delightful maxi. I wished I could have it and one more on the ramp. When I went for Global Desi's Spring/Summer 2014 preview, little did I know that the stores would be running SALE and I would find that most loved look from the ramp in the store! I thanked my stars & got this amazing slit skirt along with the crop blouse. She described her collection a 70s reminiscence with a gypsy feel. The latest A/W 2014 collection is called Mi-Ma-Mo. And did I tell you I am in love with her Jaipur Bride video, the audio is always on repeat. Her taste in jewellery does justice to Indian crafts like no other. Am i glad she has launched her jewellery collection with the label PINKCITY. Come fall in love...

How people react to style posts!

*Grumble ALERT*

“Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.”
― C.G. Jung

"Why don't you get into modelling?". "Looking great. You must get into modelling. Don't you get offers?" Its about time you get out of your day job and get into the fashion industry" . " I totally feel you deserve a break in the fashion magazines and that you must try your luck there. What are you doing here?"

And many more... I appreciate that people think so much about me. Its comforting to know people appreciate your work so much and wish all the good things for you.

Well, I wish i did get offers for modelling. But then, My blog is about STYLING and not modelling.I started the blog to share my personal style and styling tips. Not my face.  Since it is my personal style , I cannot have someone else wear it on the blog. How would it be personal style then? So what is styling you ask? In layman language- Styling means dressing up just the way you do everyday based on your mood, occasion, time of the day, weather etc. Styling is putting together an entire look top to bottom( tops, bottoms, accessories, footwear etc). The best part is playing dress-up. A same piece of cloth can be worn in a multiple ways and that is what is exciting about Styling!

Someone said, "Great pictures there, where did you get that blazer from?" . Whaaa!!! I did not write all that Ramayana(Read TEXT) for myself. Someone just pinged me. "Nice pictures.Ok, What is your blog about, again?" Perhaps an FAQ section might help.

Before I leave, this is my quick Office wear to Party wear transformation when I attended Lakme Fashion Week. Just add those pointy heels and the chunky black neckpiece and cuff . I wore the scarf as a half poncho.

Selfie is mandatory especially when you can't grab enough people for solo snaps!
