Indian fashionistas didn't know what they were missing until FOREVER 21 arrived. It has arrived and with a bang! Delhi already had a store since 2 years & now Mumbai has 3 stores at Oberoi Mall-Goregaon , Infinity Mall-Malad and Viviana Mall-Thane .There is menswear too , except in Malad store. Bloggers had a ball as the stores in Oberoi (inaugurated by Shraddha Kapoor)and Viviana(inaugurated by Jacqueline Fernandes) opened within a fortnight on Saturday mornings and what better way to start the weekends than to go crazyy at Forever 21stores! My favorite so far is the Oberoi Mall collection. Its not very feasible to go shopping at these 3 locations but if you have fallen for it, you will do EXCLUSIVE FOREVER 21 shopping sprees like I do. Infact I believe we should start this ALL GIRLS FOREVER 21 shopping gang which goes shopping together to save on taxi bills :P

All obsessions in one!
“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the
sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what
is happening.”
-COCO CHANEL
Hello my lovelies, in the midst of various travel posts, giveaways and reviews, i bring to you my favorite segment- the style post !
Its raining and i chose not to step out but make my drawing room my playground! A few new clothing pieces in my wardrobe and on my table, put together in a short indoor shoot.
I have an insatiable appetite for colored bottoms & blazers ( as you must have noticed in the Italy travel posts) ! This striped blazer from Forever 21 is my latest possession and I love it every bit. I bought it on the day FOREVER 21 opened its doors to Mumbai. I was one happy person . If you end up there ,you are sure to return with your hands full! Besides the usual loves, i am introducing a new entrant in my wardrobe- A bandeau , again from FOREVER 21 .The turquoise bandeau ends 2 inches above the navel and can be worn inside sheer blouses ,kaftans or a blazer. I think the most attractive way to carry a bandeau is pairing it with a flowy long skirt on a beach . The catch of course is toned abs. Time to get back to the regular Yogasanas!

Notice that very French flower vase on the table? I recently got this for my home. And that balloon, well, I still am a kid at heart :) |

{ FASHION } Story of a Beach vacation
Hey there peeps!
Firstly thank you so so much for an overwhelming response to the previous post. I am also glad to know that you would like more editorials on the blog. I am currently curating more looks that can fit our editorial themes, so stay tuned.
This fashion post is about to bust some myths about beach holidays and pleasantly so!
Like most of my posts that are envisioned and planned in advance, this post is an exception. I planned this shoot with Trevin who is a photographer based in Durban . We were going to shoot a tropical theme.
I was taken by surprise when the weather gods suddenly brought in snow and a mighty cold wave in some parts of the country . This, while we were already on our way to Durban.
This was my #Tfmqturns7 beach holiday and i had packed accordingly. I did see some temperature dips in the forecast and `added a jacket to my bag. But, the weather dipped to -1 on our mid-way halt with stormy winds and consistent rains.
My heart sunk as my idea of a beach holiday came crashing down. What saved me were these pants, my cap and of course the jacket. My denim shorts and mini dresses clearly got a free ride in this trip and the only important passengers were my outerwear!
So here goes the look that saved me on a cold beach vacay . The bright pink and yellow scarf saved the day for me with its happy colors. Its the best accessory for a monochrome outfit.
Busting the Beach holiday myths-
1. Black is an absolutely delightful color on the beach especially when the waters are azure blue!
2. Not just floppy hats but even caps look trendy on the beach because they can withstand the stormy breeze.
I think the most important part of being on a holiday is to be comfortable . I couldn't have enjoyed if i was freezing . Looking at how the pics turned out , i am pretty glad i chose to be warm and monochrome with a hint of color !

Jabong.com strongly believes in democratizing fashion and bringing the runway to millions of homes. I wish them all the luck as every Indian girl/ woman should dress up as if its the runway. Dressing well should not be reserved for special days but be a daily routine! I would feel so good on the streets of Italy because every woman was dressed to kill. Why should we be behind?
According to Arun Chandra Mohan, Founder and CEO of Jabong.com , "This is just the beginning of a bigger expansion plan that includes launching many other international labels.” Whoa! Am I excited?!
DOROTHY PERKINS:
The Collection for LFW S/R 2014:
This season, the Dorothy Perkins SS14 collection finds inspiration in delicate pastels, sorbet hued laces, tapestry florals and tropical prints. The line uses smart separates, chic accessories and a gamut of shoes that are great for taking the look from day to night. For the next-gen, 1980’s rocker-style bleached jeans along with an array of playful bikinis and maillot swimsuits are perfect for a holiday in the sun.
And it doesn't end here.Jabong.com hosts Asia’s first ever – Google+ Shoppable Hangout, live from the ramp at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2014. Whatever on earth does this mean? Let me explain. Viewers would be able to see Dorothy Perkins Spring Summer 2014 collection and also shop from the ramp on March 13, 2014 at 7:30 PM live from the main show area . To attend please visit http://jabo.ng/lakmehangout. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sandeep Menon, Director Marketing, Google India said, “This could get very infectious."
"To be part of Asia's first ever Google+ Shoppable Hangout is very exciting for Dorothy Perkins. Bringing the show to so many people in this innovative way mirrors our brand values. Fashion should be accessible for all and such a unique experience will add that extra level of excitement as we enter the Indian market” said Mr. Malcolm Storey, Managing Director, Dorothy Perkins.
Three most popular celebrity fashionistas, Miss Malini, Mandira Bedi & Anita Dongre will host this event for customers and will interact with them about international high-street fashion brand Dorothy Perkins, its latest SS14 collection and the latest fashion trends. In addition to the opportunity to be a part of the live event, customers can browse and simultaneously buy the products.”
I told you, tonight's gonna be a GOOD NIGHT! So Stay up and stay tuned . Sharp 7.30 PM today !

{ E.D.I.T.O.R.I.A.L} FRIDA
Hey there folks!
I am loving the smaller days and longer nights here - a reminder again ,that the virtual nip in the air has set in! Well, almost!
Last month, I decided to do anything to make my Frida Kahlo post come true- buy any flower headbands i come across or just get real flowers instead. I admire her and ever since i saw the movie FRIDA, I was obsessed with her iconic style. Its been a few years since and I never gave up on the idea to do a look inspired by her. My prayers were answered, when i found a series of PERFECT headbands at Forever 21 . They had over 15 designs in headbands and separate flower clips. On an average they costed me a high-500Rs, but i had to have them!
With a lot of deliberation, I chose 4. In this post, I have used only one of them. ( What i do with the remaining, well... stay tuned) I also think this look is a super QUICK FIX for a Halloween party. I took 15 mins for my makeup and hair- pretty fast as i don't have much patience with these things, haha. But yes, I didn't have to re-do anything. It all fell in place, perfectly.
As a preparation, the only thing i did was studying actual photographs of Frida Kahlo and analysing the way she posed for pictures & wore makeup- her Red lips, strong blush , thick eyebrows. She always wore chunky jewellery which included beaded neckpieces, single or layered and a dangling earring. Her gaze was always inwards, as if seeking something within- drowning in the depths of her jumbled life. And i have tried to look in the same way- hope i did ok???
All my jewellery is flea market finds from Mumbai and Delhi from ages ago. The top is also from a shop in Bandra- export stuff. My embroidered leather boots are an absolute rare find from the streets of Bandra last month- for 1000Rs!
From all the love i got on instagram, I am happy this look has turned out to be just as i imagined! So whats your Halloween quick fix?
Till next time, CIAO!

Monsoon party with Jean Claude Biguine Paris
“I think that the most important thing a woman can have- next to talent, of course- is her hairdresser.”
―
Joan Crawford
I had the most wonderful monsoon I must say. A trip to Lonavala with the family( pictures coming soon) and the other weekend a Monsoon party at Jean Claude Biguine ! Monsoon party at the Parisian salon? Being the owner of the most mis-behaved skin and hair put this proposition almost like a blessing in disguise! My friend tells me I am the most well-informed hair-care product user. But then, my knowledge was limited to all the chemicals one should avoid - right from SLES, parabens, silicones ,Pthalates, Formaldehyde and the list goes on! JCB to my pleasant surprise has the most practical stylists I have ever met. He pointed to a brush and said- This is the most Monsoon Un-friendly product to use! Use only a Wide-toothed comb. Yes, the same comb that one should use to de-tangle hair. Point noted. I showed him my fine toothed comb and he almost gave me a REJECTED look. Fine toothed combs cause tension in the hair and can lead to split-ends.Tail combs can be used but only for back-combing to get that Amy Winehouse-y look !Oh- yes, don't forget to use the very light hair-spray from L'oreal - Elnette to set your hair. It didn't harm my hair at all.I sure am buying one! Another tip was that the scalp needs to be dry whenever we shampoo and step out. If the scalp is dry, we can prevent dandruff. Not a very makeup person , i decided to use the services of their make-up artist some other time. As for now I am happily dancing with joy - loved what they did to my hair and looking forward to a mani/pedi with them soon! So glad Rhea from Fuss hosted this for us bloggers! Hope to get back here soon. Its good to love oneself right!About Jean Claude Biguine Paris

{ E.D.I.T.O.R.I.A.L} A Ruffle to remember
Hello there!
As promised, here are more frequent posts for you all and I am loving it. I know it means sleepless nights or perhaps slogging the whole weekend off and super early mornings- But this is How we roll! At the end, its all worth it.
Whats is the weather in your part of the world? As for me, the rain spells have begun in the city and every part of the country is glowing with a brilliant green cover. Rains mean a lot of extra tasks- like Keeping away moisture from closets, stowing away leather shoes , avoiding thick garments as they are difficult to dry and of course doing a little rain-shoe refresh. The only part I enjoy is the rain-shoe picking or shopping :D This time i got silicon wedges in black with a gold bow. So perfect for daily wear!
For those who are still enjoying the sunny skies, the SS'17 ruffle trend has my heart. Ruffles have been a favourite from the Renaissance period adorned by the European royalty when they would wear a ruffle almost everywhere- on the neck, sleeves, dress and even shoes. All this in the renaissance period, influenced by the Tudors OF ENGLAND.
Though maintaining them is a daunting task if you want to keep them looking good. This SS17, ruffles have made there way in every form and every possible object- From ruffled sleeves to ruffled mules, you can have them wherever you like!
This layered butterfly ruffle sleeve is my absolute favourite because it oozes a regal charm. This tudor style resort was the perfect setting to shoot the look.
The kimono style wrap makes the bust area appear lighter and draws attention towards exaggerated sleeves. Owing to the synthetic fabric, the sleeves don't crease or become flat. Thats a Yay , because I dread ironing clothes . I mean , who doesn't ! If you ever buy this layered ruffle sleeve, remember to check the fabric. Cotton will be the most difficult to manage while a synthetic fabric will be easy or you'll spend hours ironing the sleeves . As I speak , I got one more similar blouse from Zara, though the sleeve bit is slightly different. Check my insta for that! If you have a petite frame, you can chop off some of that long wrap belt, or it can seem to consume you. Combine it with the most amazing Chokers and you're going to look a total DIVA! Enjoy the pictures- This is a picture heavy post thanks to Nik's amazing skills behind the camera, I have struggled to filter down to these! I know they are a lot, but i just couldn't help it.
Kimono Blouse - A shop in Hill road, Bandra | Choker- Forever 21 | Shorts- Zara | Tights- Marks & Spencer | Boots- Sarojini Nagar,Delhi

Did you enjoy this post as much as i enjoyed shooting for it???
